President Donald Trump‍‍`s administration is preparing to lay off hundreds of scientists and researchers.

This decision has sparked concern, particularly among those working at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where many of these employees are currently stationed.

The news comes from a report filed by the House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology during a Congressional session on Tuesday.

The report reveals that these scientists are primarily involved in research on critical environmental issues such as pollution, climate change, and clean drinking water.

The report also suggests that a few of the affected employees may be reassigned to other government departments, though no final decisions have been made regarding this possibility.

Since taking office on January 20 as the 47th President of the United States, Trump has been active in removing thousands of federal workers, including both administrative and technical staff.

His administration has already dismissed several government officials, which has drawn sharp criticism from the Democratic Party.

Rep. Zoe Lofgren, a member of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Environment from California, expressed her frustration with the President‍‍`s actions.

Speaking to the Associated Press, she said, "President Trump politicized science during his first term, and now he is planning to kill science."

This latest move to fire researchers and scientists is part of a broader push by the Trump administration to streamline the government and reduce spending, but it has raised alarms about the potential impact on critical scientific research that addresses vital issues like environmental protection and climate change.
