Police officials differed on whether the twin bomb blasts at the Kabal police station in Swat Valley were a suicide bombing or an explosive device kept at the police‍‍`s criminal investigation department.

Provincial Police Chief Akhtar Hayat said that there were some old explosives in the basement of that building. An explosion can also occur from there. It could also be a terrorist attack.

Imdad Khan, one of the injured police officers, told the Pakistani media The Dawn that three buildings collapsed in the incident. Then there was a fire. Stating that he was in the kitchen with some colleagues at the time of the incident, Imdad said that he heard two explosions.
