A branch of Lazz Pharma at GEC square in Chattogram city, has been fined BDT 100,000 by a mobile court for selling unauthorized foreign food products and various other offenses.

On Tuesday morning, June 4, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Imran Mahmud Dalim conducted a raid on the establishment at OR Nizam Road, GEC.

According to district administration sources, the raid revealed that Lazz Pharma was selling food products, including baby food, without manufacturing and expiration dates on the packaging. Additionally, there was no information on the weight or quantity of the products. The store also lacked proper purchase receipts and proof of import.

Furthermore, due to the absence of information about the importing company and the sale of unauthorized foreign food products, the establishment was fined under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, and the Safe Food Act, 2013, based on the offenders’ confessions.
