The ferry Rajanigandha, which capsized in the Padma river close to Paturia in Manikganj one week ago, was towed ashore Friday night.

Lieutenant Shah Poran Emon, the leader of the Navy‍‍`s dive squad that carried out the rescue efforts, stated that the ferry was anchored in the Solar Power Panel Project region close to Paturia Terminal at 10:45 p.m.

He claimed that the strong river current, the fog, and the chilly weather had complicated the rescue efforts.

In addition to the ferry, two trucks that were submerged in the river on January 17 along with the ferry were also found last night.

The body of the ferry‍‍`s missing second engine master has already been found, and the sunken vessel and all of the cars carrying cargo have been saved.
