Twin students of Milestone School and College have returned home after spending 114 days in hospital following the tragic Air Force plane crash in Dhaka’s Uttara.
The 10-year-old twins, Saiba Jahan Saima and Saira Jahan, both in class IV, were discharged from the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on wednesday morning after receiving long-term care, confirmed Prof Dr Nasir Uddin, the institute’s acting director.
Saima suffered burns on 10 percent of her body, while Saira sustained burns on 30 percent. Dr Nasir added that three other students injured in the July 21 crash are still receiving treatment at the institute.
The safe return of the twins brings relief to their family and the school community, who have been anxiously awaiting their recovery since the devastating incident.
