Following the tragic plane crash at Milestone School and College, several of the deceased bodies are beyond visual recognition, prompting police to initiate DNA profiling for proper identification.
In a press release issued Monday night, the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser’s Office stated that the government is providing all possible support to the victims and their families.
Efforts are underway to verify the identities of the deceased and compile a complete list. Bodies that are unrecognizable will be identified through DNA testing. The injured are receiving the best possible treatment in several hospitals across Dhaka.
The statement strongly refuted rumors that casualty figures are being concealed. "We have observed with concern that certain groups are spreading misinformation, claiming that data on casualties is being suppressed. We firmly assert that these claims are untrue," it read.
The government, armed forces, school authorities, and hospital administrations are working together to prepare an accurate and complete list of those killed and injured in the incident.
Authorities urge the public to contact the school administration immediately if any known individual remains missing. A control room is being set up at the institution for this purpose.
Additionally, school registry books and other documents are being cross-checked to confirm whether anyone is still unaccounted for.
