Moderna to replace Pfizer as booster: DGHS

Moderna vaccines will be used to administer booster dose countrywide instead of Pfizer vaccine, announced the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

The Pfizer vaccines will be as second dose for students (12-17) who received the first jab with the same vaccine. 

It will also be used to administer the second dose to people who received the first dose with it. 

The instruction was sent out to authorities of all government medical colleges, the chief health officials at city colleges, government general hospitals, district central hospitals, hospitals with at least 250 beds, civil surgeons, upazila health and family welfare officials and medical officers of every municipality.

Bangladesh currently administers Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccine for the first and second doses.
