In a tragic road crash, at least 10 people have been killed after a passenger bus hit a tree at Wazirpur upazila in Barishal.
Meanwhile, a driver has died and another has been critically injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat.
In Barishal, the accident that occurred around 5:30am on Sunday also left 20 others injured, according to The Daily Star.
However, the deceased could not be idetified immediately.
The injured have been admitted at Barishal's Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Ali Arshad, officer-in-charge of Wazirpur Police Station.He feared that the death toll may rise.
Nine people died on the spot, and another died in the hospital while undergoing treatment.
In Lalmonirhat, police recovered the body of truck driver Markes Ali (34) of Mirzapur area in Bagura's Sherpur upazila after the accident in the morning, said Kaliganj Police Station OC Golam Rasul.
Police also rescued the seriously injured truck driver Farhad Hossain (33) of Sadulapur area in Jessore Sadar upazila and sent him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
According to the police, Markes Ali was returning from Burimari land port while Farhad was heading towards the land port when the two trucks collided head-on in Kakina area on Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway around 8am.
