M R Islam Swadhin has been appointed administrator of the newly formed Bogura City Corporation.
The Ministry of Local Government issued a notification in this regard on Monday, while Swadhin officially assumed charge on Tuesday morning.
According to the notification, he will carry out the responsibilities and powers of the mayor until an elected council is formed for the city corporation.
Officials said the appointment was made under the Local Government (City Corporation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024.
During his tenure, Swadhin will receive allowances and other benefits according to government rules.
He is a resident of the Maltinagar area in Bogura Sadar upazila.
