Four more children die with measles-like symptoms, death toll rises to 820

Four more children have died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms to 820.

The information was revealed in the regular measles report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.

The DGHS said no deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the past 24 hours. However, four people died after developing measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 1,160 new cases of measles and measles-like symptoms were reported.

According to the report, 170 people were diagnosed with confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed measles cases to 15,442. At the same time, 990 people were found to have measles-like symptoms.

Since March 15, the number of patients showing measles-like symptoms has risen to 123,753.

DGHS data showed that 106,239 patients with measles-like symptoms have been admitted to hospitals since March 15. Of them, 102,400 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
