Bangladesh will begin preliminary registration for Hajj 2027 on Monday, with aspiring pilgrims required to complete the process by September 24, the Ministry of Religious Affairs announced on Sunday.
The ministry said the registration schedule has been finalised in line with the Hajj roadmap issued by Saudi Arabia`s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Prospective pilgrims can complete the preliminary registration under either the government or private Hajj management system by depositing Tk 3.5 lakh within the specified period.
Those who complete the preliminary registration must pay the remaining amount of their chosen Hajj package and finalise their registration by December 10.
Before applying for preliminary registration, applicants must first complete pre-registration by depositing Tk 30,000, the ministry said.
Pilgrims opting for the government scheme can register online by creating an account on the e-Hajj portal (hajj.gov.bd). Registration services will also be available at Union Digital Centres, divisional and district offices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Baitul Mukarram office, district and upazila model mosques, and the Dhaka Hajj Office.
Applicants under the government arrangement must deposit the required amount at any Sonali Bank branch using the designated voucher. Those registering through private Hajj agencies will have to deposit the money into the agency`s specified bank account, with account details available on the Hajj portal.
The ministry has also outlined several eligibility requirements for Hajj 2027.
Children below 15 years of age will not be allowed to perform Hajj.
People suffering from severe chronic illnesses—including heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, and cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy or biological treatment—will also be ineligible.
The restriction will also apply to individuals suffering from contagious diseases that pose public health risks, including tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever.
Women in the final two months of pregnancy or those with high-risk pregnancies will not receive the medical fitness certificate required for Hajj.
During registration, applicants must select their preferred district for Hajj training and vaccination, the type of Hajj they intend to perform, and their preferred Hajj package.
The ministry also said applicants must hold a passport valid until at least December 31, 2027.
Earlier, on July 21, the government announced two Hajj packages for 2027, fixing the maximum package at Tk 615,263 and the minimum package at Tk 505,648.
