The last budget session of the current term of the government is going to start on Wednesday (May 31) at 5 pm at the National Parliament in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
The President of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh Md. Sahabuddin has convened the 23rd session (Budget 2023 Session) of the 11th National Parliament under the authority of Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.
This was informed in a press release of the National Parliament Secretariat.
It is said in the announcement that tomorrow at 5 pm the budget session will begin under the chairmanship of Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.
The next day Thursday (June 1), Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will present the national budget for the next financial year in Parliament. This year the budget size is 7 lakh 61 thousand 785 crores. The government`s target in the annual development program or ADP is Tk 2 lakh 63 thousand crores. The growth target has been fixed at 7.5 percent.
The proposed budget is expected to be passed in Parliament on June 25.
