State Minister for the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that there are 4 crore 80 lakh total consumers of electricity in the country, of them about 80 lakh are facing load-shedding.
In some of the areas in southern districts of Bangladesh power supply has still not restored until 12:30 pm on Tuesday after Cyclone Sitrang hit last night.
The upazilas which remain without power are mainly connected with Kathalia-Char Fashion and Bhanga-Sadarpur grid lines, official said.
They are hoping that they can restore power supply through the Bhanga-Sadarpur grid soon. But restoring the 33kV KathaliaChar Fashion grid line may take time, according to Azharul Islam, managing director of West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd.
