The voting of Faridpur-2 constituency started today at 8:00am and will continue till 4:00pm. Already the voting materials have been sent to the polling booths.
By-polls to the Faridpur-2 constituency, which fell vacant due to the demise of senior Awami League leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury.
Around 1,052 CCTV cameras have been installed at polling booths.
The constituency has 3,18,479 voters. The election is being held in 123 voting centers.
Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said, electronic voting machines (EVMs) are being used in this voting.
Awami League-backed candidate Shahadab Akbar Labu Chowdhury and Bangladesh Khilafat Andolan candidate Md Zainul Abedin Bakul Mia are contesting in the by-election.
