The country including the capital Dhaka may have a sigh of relief from the scorching heat and humid weather as the met office forecast monsoon showers in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Tuesday.
“Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions,” said a weather bulletin.
“Moderately heavy to heavy falls are likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna & Barishal divisions with at places over the northern part of the country,” it read.
However, with a mild heat wave sweeping over Khulna division, some districts in Rajshahi and Pabna may continue.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
In the synoptic situation BMD said, trough of low extended from the Southern part of Bihar to Gangetic West Bengal persists. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
