State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam today assured that there is no fuel crisis in the country, adding that fuel import and supply systems remain normal.
“The government has taken a plan for the next three months. In addition, some new steps have been taken to save energy, including closing markets by 6:00pm and reducing expenses of ministers and secretaries by 30 percent,” he said.
The state minister made the remarks while talking to reporters during his visit to Mahmudul Hasan Chand Bazar in Tangail town.
Referring to past development claims, he said that over the last 17 years there had been much discussion about development, but little visible progress on the ground.
“Now, while working at the field level, the real picture is being clearly seen,” he added.
Shahe Alam also mentioned that he has already discussed with the district office of the Local Government Division regarding the development of roads and the market at Park Bazar in Tangail.
“These development works will be started on an urgent basis,” he said.
State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and district LGED Executive Engineer Mohammad Kamruzzaman, among others, were present during the visit.
