PM leaves Dhaka for Mymensingh

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left Dhaka by road on Saturday morning for Trishal in Mymensingh to attend a series of official and political programmes.

The Prime Minister’s motorcade departed from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the Tejgaon area of the capital around 11:05 am, said Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the re-excavation work of the Dharar canal at Bailor Union in Trishal. He will also attend the national programme marking the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at the Nazrul Mancha in Trishal.

He is also expected to formally inaugurate the three-day Nazrul birth anniversary celebrations.

Besides the official engagements, Tarique Rahman will join an organisational meeting of BNP’s Mymensingh North, South and city units at the Trishal Nazrul Auditorium later in the afternoon.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Dhaka in the evening.

The visit marks his first trip to Trishal in Mymensingh since assuming office as Prime Minister.
