The full committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student front of the ruling party Awami League, has been announced, says a press release issued on Thursday.
The names of 10 more leaders have been included as vice presidents in this committee with a total of 279 members altogether.
According to the press release, the full committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League includes the president, 71 vice presidents, a general secretary, a joint general secretary and 11 organizational secretaries among others.
Mentionable, the 30th council of the Chhatra League was held at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on December 6 last year. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. After 14 days of the conference, on the night of December 20 of the same year, Saddam Hossain was announced as the president and Sheikh Wali Asif Enan as the general secretary.
General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader announced the name of this top leadership on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The previous council was held on May 11, 2018, when Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon was selected as the president of the Chhatra League and Golam Rabbani as the general secretary.
Later, on September 14, 2019, Al-Nahean Khan Joy and Lekhak Bhattacharjee were declared acting president and acting general secretary soon after then president Rezwanul and Rabbani were removed from their posts.
On January 04, 2020, Al-Nahean Khan Joy and Lekhak Bhattacharjee were made full president and general secretary respectively.
