Referring to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen's recently remarks over staying in heaven and India’s assistance in holding power, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said the minister spoke tge truth as none can lie in heaven.
He said: "The minister spoke the truth. He proved that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is struggling to regain people’s trust. And that’s why they need India’s support in coming to power again."
He made the remarks after attending a party programme on Friday.
"Such remarks of ministers proved BNP' prediction that this government has no support of people. Thus, the government is afraid of holding fair polls," he added.
He further said: "People are not the source of their strength. Rather the government is staying in power with the help of foreign powers."
Noting that BNP has full faith on the people of the country, he said: "People are our source of power. We believe in democracy and we are not depending on any foreign superpower like Awami League does."
"So, we want a fair poll as we are attached with people of the country. Awami League has abandoned the countrymen and that's why they are seeking support from others," he added.
