In 2022, the dynamic duo of Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas welcomed their daughter Malti Marie into the world. Since then, the couple has been on a candid journey, generously sharing glimpses of their experience as new parents. Recently, Priyanka Chopra shed light on the profound changes that accompany the joy of parenthood, particularly in the realm of sleep.

During a conversation on the podcast Read The Room, Priyanka Chopra spoke about her daughter Malti, drawing striking parallels between herself and the little one. She remarked, “When I reflect on my comfort with attention, it’s clear that Malti shares that trait. Unlike some kids who may shy away from the spotlight, I was always at ease in front of the camera, on stage, basking in attention. And now, Malti embodies that same confidence. I attribute this to the unwavering support and empowerment from my parents, family, and friends during my formative years.”

Discussing the most surprising aspect of motherhood, the actor expressed, “Without a doubt, it’s the loss of control over my sleep patterns. I find myself transformed into the lightest sleeper, attuned to every sound and stir. It’s a constant state of vigilance. Why do I wake up at 7:30 am? Simply because Malti is up. Gone are the days of sleeping at 10 am or staying up all night. It’s a challenging adjustment, but one that comes with immeasurable love.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Nick Jonas, who graced the same podcast a few months prior, shared his reflections on fatherhood. He confessed, “Parenthood swiftly teaches you the art of surrendering control. It’s a lesson I never anticipated at this stage in my life. We faced some tough times during the initial months of Malti’s life, shattering the idyllic vision we held for parenthood. It’s a profound shift, realizing that life often unfolds in ways entirely different from what we imagine.”
