Shomi Kaiser gets HC bail

The High Court today granted three months‍‍` ad-interm bail to actress Shomi Kaiser, also former president of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB), in an attempted murder case, report The Daily Star.

The HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain granted the bail after Shomi submitted a petition seeking bail in the case.

Shomi‍‍`s lawyer Hamidul Misbah told The Daily Star that that there is no legal bar to his client‍‍`s release from Kashimpur jail following the HC order.

One Ishtiaq Mahmud has filed the case with Uttara East Police Station against Shomi and several others on charge of attempting to kill him during the anti-discrimination students movement, the lawyer said.
