Cricketer Al-Amin sued again

Bangladesh national team cricketer Al-Amin Hossain, who got bail in a case of domestic violence on Tuesday, was sued again by his wife over family violence on Wednesday.

Ishrat Jahan filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shafiuddin claiming Tk 1,00,000 as maintenance per month under sections 15(1)(A)(B)(C)/16(5)(6) of Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act, 2010.

After the hearing, Magistrate Md Shafiuddin recorded the statement of the complainant and  took cognisance of the charges.

It also summoned the cricketer to appear before it on September 27.

Earlier on Tuesday, the High Court granted eight weeks‍‍` anticipatory bail to Al-Amin after he surrendered before it in another case filed on charges of torturing his wife and demanding dowry from her.

Today, Ishrat Jahan alleged that her husband did not provide her maintenance including educational expenses of their two children.

Around 10:00pm on September 3, Al-Amin‍‍`s mother telephoned Ishrat and said her son would not continue conjugal life and provide her any maintenance, the complainant alleged.

Ishrat Jahan had filed the other case against Al Amin with Mirpur Police Station on September 1. In the case, she alleged that he (Al-Amin) tortured and abused her for dowry of Tk 20 lakh.
