Cristiano Ronaldo has once again made history, becoming the first individual to surpass one billion followers across all social media platforms. Known for breaking records on and off the pitch, the Portuguese star continues to set new digital milestones.
Ronaldo, who already holds the title of the most-followed person on Instagram, recently launched his YouTube channel, `UR. Cristiano.` In an astonishing feat, the channel gained 50 million subscribers within a week and surpassed one million subscribers in just 90 minutes.
The Al Nassr forward shared the exciting news on social media. Posting on X, he wrote, "We’ve made history — 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number – it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond.
"From the streets of Madeira to the world`s grandest stages, I’ve always played for my family and for you, and now, 1 billion of us stand together.
"You’ve been with me through every moment, the ups and the downs. This journey is ours, and we’ve proven that there are no limits to what we can achieve.
"Thank you for believing in me, for your unwavering support, and for being part of my life. The best is yet to come, and together, we’ll keep pushing, winning, and making history."
Ronaldo also made headlines after an appearance on Rio Ferdinand`s podcast, where he expressed satisfaction with the direction of his club under the leadership of INEOS CEO Jim Ratcliffe. He also offered advice to Manchester United`s manager Erik Ten Hag, encouraging him to make full use of Ruud van Nistelrooy, recently appointed as an assistant coach.
This social media milestone comes shortly after another major achievement for Ronaldo, as he became the first footballer to score 900 career goals, netting the winner in Portugal`s Nations League match against Croatia.
