The government has begun constructing July martyrs nemorials in all 64 districts of the country, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki announced at a press conference held at Ganabhaban on Monday (14 July).
Farooki stated, “The construction of the July martyrs’ memorials across 64 districts officially starts today. We aim to complete all works by 4 August.”
He said the initiative was taken to honor the sacrifices of those who died during the July uprising and to preserve their legacy for future generations.
The cultural adviser also announced that the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs has launched efforts to identify all women who participated in the July movement.
“The government will create an official list recognizing each woman’s name and contributions during the July uprising,” he added.
