Three members of a family have died when a train hit an easy bike at an unmanned level crossing in Tangail's Kalihati upazila.
The deceased are easy bike driver Taibul Hossain, 43, his daughter Tahmina Begum, 25, and her 14-month-old son Tawheed.
Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station, confirmed the news.
He said: “The incident took place at an unmanned level crossing at Hatia at around 2:15pm on Monday, leaving the easy bike driver Taibul and his grandson Tawhid dead on the spot. The woman was declared dead soon after she was rushed to Tangail General Hospital.”
According to relatives, Taibul, along with his daughter and grandson, was going to his village in Ghatail with his easy bike from Tahmina's in-laws' house in Hatia.
