613 more Rohingyas reach Bhasan Char from Chittagong

Another 613 Rohingyas reached Bhasan Char on Saturday from Chittagong’s Patenga Boat Club under the supervision of Bangladesh Navy.

Earlier, they reached Patenga from Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya Balukhali camp and left for Bhasan Char with the help of two naval ships around 10:30am on Saturday after an overnight stay at a temporary transit camp of BAF Shaheen College.

Navy sources said that the Rohingyas reached Bhasan Char around 1:45pm.

Before boarding the ship, the Rohingyas were given tokens and keys of the allotted shelter homes after various data entries, the sources added.

Concern sources said that the government has provided infrastructure of 120 cluster villages on the 13,000-acres of char land at a cost of Tk 3,095 crore with its own fund to accommodate more than 100,000 Rohingya people.

 

Earlier, 379 Rohingya refugees reached Bhasan Char on a naval ship on November 25.
