About 75 million people in the country will get two doses of coronavirus vaccine by January next year, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek.
He made the remarks while addressing the inaugural function of Bangabandhu Gold Cup Premier Division District Football League at Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium in Manikganj district town on Saturday (November 20).
The health minister said, “So far, 90 million doses of vaccine have been administered. Another 60 million doses will be given by next January. In all, 150 million doses of vaccine will be inoculated by January.
Advising everyone to follow the safety rules, Zahid Malek said, “A total of 130 million people in the country need to be vaccinated. Of these, one crore people are out of the country. The remaining 12 crore people will be vaccinated against coronavirus. ”
Mentioning that Corona has come under a lot of control in the country, the Health Minister said, “Corona is under a lot of control in Bangladesh now. The death toll has now dropped to single digits. The rate of infection has also decreased. The country is in a good condition due to our efforts under the guideline of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. ”
He added, "It has given impetus to people's lives. Educational institutions have been opened. People have started coming and going in the country and abroad. Now people are not afraid of the pandemic. But Corona is not over yet.”
