Senior officials from the Army Headquarters have clarified that there is no conflict or confrontation between the military and the government.
They emphasized that both institutions are working together in the interest of the nation’s sovereignty and stability.
Speaking at a briefing in Dhaka Cantonment, Brigadier General Md Nazim Ud Doula stated that recent claims circulating on social media about tensions between the army and government are false.
He reaffirmed that the military maintains a cooperative relationship with the government and continues to play a responsible role in safeguarding national security.
Addressing a question on the port corridor issue, he stressed that the army would never be involved in any matter that could jeopardize national security and that all decisions are taken with the country’s best interest in mind.
Responding to questions about possible military intervention if elections are delayed, Colonel Shafiqul Islam rejected the speculation, saying there is no intention or internal discussion within the military about taking power. He called such rumors baseless.
The briefing also highlighted various ongoing field activities of the army throughout the month.
