Army denies claims of military operations zone in Cox’ Bazar

The Bangladesh Army has strongly refuted a recent report by an Indian media outlet claiming that a region from Cox’s Bazar to Bandarban has been declared a ‘Military Operations Zone.’

In an official statement released Sunday via its verified social media platforms, the Army termed the report as entirely false, baseless, and intentionally misleading.

The statement condemned the attempt to present Bangladesh’s internal security posture in a distorted light, calling it a deliberate part of a broader misinformation campaign aimed at destabilizing public perception and tarnishing the image of the armed forces.

The Army also rejected insinuations made in the report that the Bangladesh Army supports any militant or separatist groups, labeling such allegations as malicious, unfounded, and provocative.

Reaffirming its commitment to national sovereignty and constitutional duties, the Army emphasized that it operates with the highest standards of professionalism and has never compromised — and will never compromise — the interests of the nation.

The statement concluded by noting that Bangladesh has always remained united in the face of external disinformation, and its armed forces are fully prepared and resolutely committed to safeguarding the country and its people.
