The Bangladesh army has kicked off an operation to eradicate dengue. Currently, the country is suffering from the dengue menace, as rising cases and fatalities from dengue has overwhelmed the hospitals.
Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed inaugurated the dengue eradication drive in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday. In the opening ceremony, the army chief said, 'The risk of dengue outbreak and death is increasing at an alarming rate due to lack of awareness.'
He directed to take necessary measures to eliminate dengue in all cantonments including Dhaka and requested everyone to strengthen and speed up dengue prevention activities in their respective institutions, residences, and residential areas.
