A Baul singer, who was en route to a music festival, was killed when a speeding truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling on the Cumilla-Sylhet Highway on Tuesday, reports UNB.
The deceased is Jamal Hossain, 35, a resident of Dhaka's Kachukhet area. The acacident also left three others injured.
The accident occurred on the highway in the Urshiura area of the district's Sadar upazila around 8.30pm. "The truck hit the auto at a high speed, leaving all its four occupants injured," said Shahjalal Alam, officer-in-charge of Khatihata Highway Police camp.
The injured were rushed to a local hospital, where Jamal was declared by the on-duty doctor as being brought dead.
The singer was on his way to Akhaura upazila for attending a music festival when the accident occurred, the OC said.
