At least 20 people including five policemen have been injured in a clash between two villagers in Brahmanbaria.
The incident took place centering a cricket match at Sorail Upazila of the district on Friday (December 24).
Police held three people in connection with the incident.
A group of teens from Khandakerpara and Dainpara were playing cricket at a field adjacent to Kamarbari of Kuttapara village Friday morning, police said.
At one stage of the match, two teams locked into dispute.
Khadakarpara team beat Sajib Mia of Dainpara team and he sustained injury on his head.
After a while, the two villagers locked into clashes with spears, bricks and batons. Police came to the spot after half an hour and tried to take the situation in control.
The injured were Sub-Inspector (SI) Saiful Islam, also another SI Saiful Islam, police member Jamal Uddin, Ashraful Islam and Shahidul Islam.
