Elephant died after being hit by train in capital

An elephant died after being hit by a train in Uttara area of ​​the capital. The mahout tied two elephants to the side of the railway line; one of them met with the accident.

The elephant died on the spot when a train hit it at Kotbari Railgate area of ​​Abdullahpur in Uttara today in the afternoon. Airport Railway Station Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Akbar Ali confirmed the death of the elephant.

Akbar Ali said, “A mahout (elephant keeper) kept the two elephants there to rest. The Chattla Express from Dhaka to Chittagong hit the elephant. The elephant's leg got caught in the rail and the elephant also died on the spot. Later the dead elephant was removed by a crane and the train left the area. After the accident, the mahout ran away with the other elephant.” He also said that the dead elephant will be handed over to the forest department officials.
