Bangladesh has received the first consignment of Pfizer vaccine manufactured specially for children between 5-11 years to contain the coronavirus. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the news to the media.
“As many as 15 lakh 2 thousand 400 doses arrived in the first batch. The health ministry held a discussion with the education ministry to inoculate children from 5-11 years. The schedule will be declared soon,” said the member secretary of the coronavirus vaccine management committee Dr Samsul Haque.
“The special Pfizer shots will be administered among children aged between 5 and 11 installing vaccine centres at their schools. Initially, 2.20 crore children will be given the vaccine,” he furthered.
