With the death of a young woman, four members of a family from Cox’s Bazar have died so far after an air conditioner explosion at a rented flat in Dhaka`s Bashundhara residential area.
Raksi Akhter, 20, was the fourth victim to die. She breathed her last around 5am on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, sources said.
She had suffered burns on 55% of her body.
Raksi’s son, 3-year-old Ayan, died on Wednesday. Her sister, 18-year-old Futu Akhter, died on Thursday. Her father, Abdul Mannan, died on Saturday.
Before that, the air conditioner exploded on Monday evening at a ground-floor flat in Bashundhara residential area
The family had come to the capital from Cox’s Bazar’s Moheshkhali upazila so that Raksi could seek treatment for a brain tumour at a private hospital.
