Govt approves Kanchpur Bus Terminal development project

The government on Wednesday approved the construction of key infrastructure at the Kanchpur Bus Terminal under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), allowing the project to be implemented through the Direct Procurement Method (DPM).

The approval came at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs held at the Secretariat, with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.

According to an official statement, the committee granted policy approval for the project titled "Construction of Shed, Ticket Counters, Toilets, Office Rooms and Other Ancillary Facilities at Kanchpur Bus Terminal."

The project will be implemented by Chittagong Dry Dock Limited (CDDL), a Bangladesh Navy-operated enterprise, under the Direct Procurement Method.

The project proposal was presented to the committee by the Local Government Division.
