The pandemic situation is still in the grip of the government. So, there is no plan to impose lockdown or any curbing measures.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque said this while talking to the reporters after visiting the Bangladesh Institute of Health Management (BIHM) in Savar on Sunday (December 5).
“The situation in the country is under control though the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus spread panic across the world. So, the government has no plan to impose any lockdown,” the health minister said.
He said, “Various countries across the world are struggling with the variant. But the situation in the country is good. There is no plan to close the border. There is no reason to panic.”
The minister also informed that the government has adequate stock of coronavirus vaccines.
