The High Court directed Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove all audio and video of State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murad Hassan's derogatory comments from online platforms and social media in 24 hours.
A high court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on a suo muto (voluntary) move after Supreme Court lawyer Syed Sayedul Haque Suman prayed for necessary directives to this connection on Tuesday (December 7).
The bench asked Deputy Attorney General Bepul Bagmar to convey the court order to the BTRC and inform it after complying with the directive Wednesday.
Lawyer Suman told the HC that the audio and video which went viral on social media will have adverse impact on children and the young if those are not removed immediately.
