Holy Shab-e-Barat observed

The Holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune, was observed across the country on Tuesday night with religious fervour and devotion.

On the occasion, the Islamic Foundation organised various programmes at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital. The foundation arranged waz (religious sermons), doa mahfil, special prayers, recitation from the Holy Quran, and Hamd-Naat throughout the night at the mosque.

In addition, mosques across the country held religious sermons after Maghrib prayers, followed by special munajat after Isha prayers to mark Shab-e-Barat.

On the occasion, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus issued a message greeting all Muslims of the country and elsewhere across the world.

A large number of devotees visited nearby graveyards during the night, offering special doa and munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of their near and dear ones.

People also distributed money, food, and sweetmeats among the poor and destitute as part of the observance.
