The National University will reintroduce admission tests for the first-year undergraduate (Honors) program in the upcoming academic year, as part of efforts to improve the quality of education and degrees.
The tests are set to begin next year. This announcement was made by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor A. S. M. Amanullah, at a student-teacher gathering held at Mokamtala Women`s Degree College ground in Shibganj Upazila, Bogura, on Saturday.
He also revealed that the National University’s Regional Center in Bogura will start its operations in January next year.
Professor A. S. M. Amanullah said, "We have declared 2025 as the examination year for the National University. If we can complete all the exams by November-December next year, we will be able to reduce session jams by around 80%."
He emphasized the importance of support from teachers, students, and parents to make this possible.
The gathering was chaired by Mir Shah Alam, the Director of BSCIC and former Chairman of Shibganj Upazila Parishad.
Other speakers included Dr. G. K. M. Mostafizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Gazipur Agricultural University, Dr. Hasanat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Naogaon University, Tahmina Akter, the Executive Officer of Shibganj Upazila, Senior Assistant Police Superintendent Nazran Rouf, National University College Inspector Abdul Hai Siddique, and National University Director Rafiqul Islam, among others.
