One hour internet disruption expected for submarine cable maintenance

Internet users in Bangladesh may experience brief disruptions as maintenance activities are scheduled for the country‍‍`s second submarine cable, C-ME-5, located in Kuakata. The Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC) has issued a circular announcing the temporary closure of internet bandwidth service for one hour during the maintenance period.

According to the circular released on Wednesday (April 17), the maintenance will take place from 3:00 AM to 4:00 AM on Thursday (April 18). During this hour, customers may encounter some slowness while using the internet. However, the bandwidth service will remain uninterrupted from the Cox‍‍`s Bazar Landing Station (C-MI-4) through the submarine cable.

The scheduled maintenance aims to ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of the C-ME-5 submarine cable, which plays a crucial role in providing internet connectivity to users across the country. While the temporary disruption may cause inconvenience to users, it is necessary to conduct maintenance activities to enhance the reliability of the internet infrastructure.
