The court has rejected the bail plea of actor Porimoni who was arrested in a narcotics case. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court of Dhaka passed the order on Friday (August 13). The court also suspended the bail application of Pori’s associate Ashraful Islam Dipu was asked to send the duo in jail.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) produced the sensational actor before the court around 11:40am Friday after two days remand.
Earlier, the court approved the remand on Tuesday in a case filed with Banani police station.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Porimoni on August 4. Later she was shown arrested in a narcotics case.
Plaintiff Md Mojibur Rahman of Rab-1 said, he and other Rab officials were at Gulshan-1 intersection. On information, the team came to know that Porimoni stocked huge amount of foreign liquor through her assistant Ashraful Islam Dipu.
Later on, the team raided Porimoni’s Banani residence, seized foreign liquor and detained her.
Besides, other substances like Lysergic Diethylamide Acid (LSD) and crystal meth, mostly known as ice, were also recovered from there.
According to the case statement, Porimoni used to stock such abusive drugs at home through a person named after Kabir. However, details of Kabir have not been mentioned in the FIR.
Alongside, the actor also collected narcotics from producer Najrul Islam Raj. However, the defence said, the allegation is baseless.
Pori might face maximum five years in prison if the allegation, which was brought under narcotics control act, is proved.
