RAB arrests Ring ID director on charges of fraudulence

Saiful Islam, director of private e-commerce company Ring ID, has been arrested. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police arrested him from Brahmanbaria on Saturday (October 2).

On September 30, a case was filed against 15 people, including Saiful, under the Digital Security Act with Bhatara police station in the capital.

According to the case statment 10 to 15 more unidentified persons were named as accused.

The case alleges that the company illegally embezzled Tk 23 crore 94 lakh in May, Tk 109 crore 13 lakh in June and Tk 79 crore 38 lakh in July from various people.

The CID has requested Bangladesh Bank to freeze their accounts so that the money is not smuggled abroad. 

Saiful will be interrogted in police custody regarding how they and his compliances accumulated such a huge amount, and other details. 

CID Special Superintendent of Police (SP) Rezaul Masud has been appointed as the supervising officer of the case.
