Relatives of the martyrs of last year’s July uprising gathered at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) area on Monday morning ahead of the verdict in the case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and two others over alleged crimes against humanity during last year’s July-August.
Some of the injured victims of July movement were seen on the tribunal premises with posters and banners around their necks.
The government has tightened security measures across the country, particularly in Dhaka, ahead of the verdict as Awami Leagu, whose activities were banned, has announced a two day lockdown in protest against the trial against the party chief.
The verdict will be broadcast live by BTV and the tribunal’s Facebook page will also stream it.
The verdict will be shown on large screens at 10 locations in Dhaka.
