The search committee, tasked with finalising 10 names for the reformation of the Election Commission, is set to hand over the final shortlist to the president on Wednesday evening.
The six-member search committee will meet the head of the state at his official residence Bangabhaban at 7:15 pm, reports The Daily Star citing Mohammad Joynal Abedin, press secretary to the president.
The committee comprising six members was formed to reconstitute the Election Commission (EC) to conduct the next general elections, earlier this month.
Justice Obaidul Hasan heads the panel, whose other members are Justice SM Kuddus Zaman, Comptroller and Auditor General Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Bangladesh Public Service Commission Chairman Sohorab Hossain, former Election Commissioner Sohul Hussain and fiction writer Anwara Syed Haq. They were also present during the talks.
