Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary for the Chief Advisor, disclosed that substantial assets belonging to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members have been uncovered in six countries.

The announcement came during a press conference held in the capital on Monday.

Alam confirmed that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had already received reports from two intelligence agencies regarding these assets.

According to the press secretary, Sheikh Hasina’s family has assets spread across the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Cayman Islands.

Notably, 124 bank accounts have been linked to the family, holding a staggering 635 crore Taka.

In addition to these bank accounts, Alam also revealed the discovery of significant real estate holdings. A 60-katha plot of land, valued at 1.8 crore Taka, has been registered in the name of Sheikh Hasina and her family through Rajuk.

Furthermore, eight flats, alongside a 10% share in a land plot valued at 8.85 crore Taka, were also found to be linked to the family.

These findings raise further questions about the wealth of Bangladesh’s ruling family, and investigations are underway to determine the source and legality of these assets.
