The price of bottled soybean oil has increased again. The price of soybean oil has been increased by Tk 12 per liter and the new price has been fixed at Tk 199. The new prices set by the Edible Oil Producers Association are effective from today. Biswajit Saha, director of leading edible oil marketer City Group, confirmed this to the media.
According to the new price, from now on open soybean oil is Tk 176 per liter, bottled soybean oil is Tk 199 per liter, and five liter bottled soybean oil is Tk 960. In addition, palm super open soybean oil has been fixed at Tk 135 per litre.
Explaining the reason for the increase in the price, the Edible Oil Producers Association has said that since the government's VAT exemption period for the import of edible oil has ended on April 30. Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association has decided to increase the price in consultation with the Ministry of Commerce and the Bangladesh Tariff Commission.
