Stern action if religious leaders present fabricated info: State minister

State minister for religious affairs Faridul Haque Khan said, local administration and law enforcing agencies take legal actions if false and fabricated information are presented before public through religious leaders.

Faridul came up with the remarks while replying to a query at the National Parliament on Thursday (September 2).

Answering to a question of ruling party lawmaker Momota Hena the state minister said, “Different meetings are organized bringing teachers, lawyers, retired government officials and people from different professions together aiming to create awareness under the light of Islam to ensure proper practice of the religious values.”

Khatibs are requested to take necessary steps to discuss the issues at pre-khutba on Jumma prayer.

He said, if false and fabricated information is spread to people of other religion legal actions are also taken.
