Women to surpass men in number in 2041

There will be more women than men in the country after 19 years, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) predicts

According to the government agency data, the number of women in the country will be about 10 crore 31 lakh 17 thousand while the number of men will be 10 crore 25 lakh 18 thousand.

The BBS has produced a report forecasting the population of the country in the next 50 years.

The report titled 'Women and Men in Bangladesh: Facts and Figures 2022' was released last week. Based on the 2011 census, a possible picture of the population of Bangladesh for the next 50 years was presented in the report.

BBS says, for the first time, women will surpass men in number in 2041.

According to the report, the population of Bangladesh will be 20 crore 56 lakh 35 thousand by 2041. The population of 2061 will be 22 crore 33 lakh 93 thousand.
