For the first time in the country's history, the price of gold has crossed the mammoth Tk90,000 mark.
This comes as the Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) on Saturday decided to raise the price of gold by Tk 2,333 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.
The previous all-time high price was set on December 30, at Tk88,413.
Now, gold of 22-carat will cost Tk 90,746 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat Tk 86,605, 18-carat Tk 74,241, and gold of traditional method Tk 61,878 respectively.
The new prices will come into effect from Sunday.
